A summer break before the new term begins: the house takes a breather, the stories continue

At De Ultieme Hallucinatie, summer isn’t the end of the season: it’s a gentle retreat, almost a pause in the hustle and bustle of the world.

From 12 July to 19 August, the doors close, the terrace empties, and the house enters a gentle hibernation. Just long enough to return refreshed, with new stories to share…

A season that spilled beyond the walls

There were meals that grew long, evenings that refused to end, and private events that transformed the salons into theatre sets. Voices, music, clinking glasses… And then, everything you don’t see straight away: film shoots in the nooks and crannies, singing and poetry workshops, backstage areas that buzz just as much as the main halls during opening hours. A new energy too, driven by an expanded team, refined gestures, and routines that shift silently. The new website has opened another door, clearer, more direct, yet without detracting from the mystery. The newsletter, for its part, has brought it all together: little stories within the bigger picture, gourmet drinks receptions, musical dinners, open-mic nights, storytelling, cinema and those parties that sometimes begin without warning.

A living space, in every sense of the word.

A break to come back stronger

From 12 July to 19 August, the venue is taking a breather. We’re closing our doors just as we dim the lights in a room that’s still warm. It’s a chance to reflect on what has been, and to prepare for what’s to come.

When we reopen, nothing will be set in stone. Events, encounters, formats yet to be invented. Always that blend that defines the place’s identity: architecture, cuisine, cultural life and that very particular (and sometimes slightly unpredictable) way of bringing it all together under one roof.

Summer will pass quickly. Or slowly. It doesn’t matter. The house, for its part, remains in motion even when it is quiet.

We’ll close the doors for a few weeks and reopen them soon, with that same simple pleasure: creating magic and bringing people together.
