THE FILM

'L’Ivresse des livres' is an independent fiction film directed by the Belgian filmmaker Philippe Reypens, starring Fabrizio Rongione in the lead role. Adapted from the short story ‘Nagra’, taken from the collection by writer Jean Jauniaux, the film tells the sensitive and unique story of a man passionate about literature who, upon learning that he is going to lose his sight, sets about recording the books that have shaped his life. Blending melancholy, tenderness and a celebration of the power of words, this contemporary fable explores how reading transforms us, sometimes far beyond the pages…
